Sam is in love. Is this the guy?

- B.V.S. PRAKASH DECCAN CHRONICLE

Samanta admits to having a special someone in her life but refuses to divulge her boyfriend’s name. Rumours, however, are strong that it’s actor Siddharth. The two were first seen together in Jabardhast. According to unit members, the two struck a chord off screen as well and have reportedly been growing close over the past year. So, is Siddharth the lucky man? “Siddharth is a good friend and co-star. We are close but there’s nothing more,” Samanta says.

What about the stories of the two of them recently holidaying together in the US? “I don’t see the need to clarify rubbish like this. I also believe that my love life is strictly a private affair and I would like to keep it that way,” she says.

“I would want to share this only with my close friends and they know that I’m the happiest I’ve ever been in the 24 years of my life,” she adds.

With another hit, Seethamma Vakitlo..., the actress is on a dream run on the professional front as well. She says she didn’t mind the fact that her role in the film was shortened. “It’s a role I really enjoyed playing and I don’t need to be seen in every frame,” points out Samanta.

On her pairing with Mahesh Babu becoming a hit in T-town, she says, “Frankly, I was nervous about doing another film with Mahesh Babu immediately after Dookudu. Luckily, our pairing is a hit. In both films, our relationship begins with repeated quarrels before we strike a chord and Mahesh is quite romantic on screen.” She adds that is not aspiring for heavy duty roles like the one in Yeto Velli Poyindi... and would prefer ‘only lighthearted romantic roles’ now.

“I’m not interested in grabbing the positions, roles and money. I am content with what I have. This number game is just a myth,” Samanta responds.
