Hate speech content seized from channel AKBAR’S PT WARRANT EXTENDED
Notice sent to 4 TV channel last week
Osmania University Police on Saturday raided the office of 4 TV channel at Gulzar Houz and seized the hard disk and computer that contain MIM MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi’s controversial speech. Though five days ago, OU police had sent a notice to 4 TV Channel, asking it to submit the ‘hate speech’ content it had broadcasted, the channel did not respond, the cops said.
“We had sent them a notice to submit the tape they had broadcasted. Later we requested them over phone. However, we did not get any response from the concerned officials. Thus we raided the office and seized the hard disk and a computer,” OU inspector P. Ashok said.

Police had registered a case under Section 153A (promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, race, place of birth, language etc and doing acts prejudicial to maintenance of harmony) of IPC after additional chief metropolitan magistrate directed them. The Prisoner Transit warrant on Akbaruddin Owaisi was extended upto January 24 in the hate speech case on Saturday.
The first additional judicial first class magistrate N. Amaravathi granted permission for extension. Mr Owaisi’s advocates had filed a petition with the court to extend the PT warrant as their client was unwell. Earlier, the court directed the police to produce Mr Owaisi in Nizamabad on or before January 19.
