‘I am yet to find my man’

The actress talks about her career and future prospects

A two-heroine script is something I don’t have a problem with, so long as I know my role and how important it is for a film. The rest is secondary.

More than closeness between us, I would like to call it a comfort level. Also, it is a romantic song, and chemistry is definitely required. The fact that we have been friends for a long time and Vishal being an absolute professional helped as well.

Ten years, yes, but sometimes, I still feel like I came in yesterday. That’s how much my line of work interests me. Hoping for another 10 years would depend on my choice of films, my directors who write scripts keeping me in mind, the fact that I have tried to balance mass and class, a whole load of luck, a wonderful mom to back me up, and of course, God’s blessings.

I am excited because it’s a heroine-centric film. It’s a very young vibrant role. I can’t wait to begin shooting with M.S. Raju again and the entire star cast. As an actress, I am thrilled that the movie has given me a platform to try out something different and new.

I love being part of causes I believe in. I have always felt the need to support children and animals, and when you feel passionately about it, it comes straight from the heart. More than me making a difference to their lives, my whole life changed because of my association with them.

In the last 10 years I have been married off at least five times by the press. Yes, I believe in marriage and will definitely marry only for love. If and when things are certain and I know ‘this is the man I want to spend the rest of my life with’, I will tell the whole world. But right now, I love my life and my work.
