Set for AC4?

- PARTH BAGARIA

Those who thought Ubisoft is going to take a break from Assassin’s Creed couldn’t have been more wrong. Assassin’s Creed III gave us an “end of all things” feel, and even though we knew there will be more games in the series, it does seem like Ubisoft wants to bring the game back early. Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag has a new setting, new protagonist and new features.

You play as Edward Kenway, grandfather of Connor. In the trailer featuring Blackbeard, we learned that Edward is a ruthless pirate as the game takes to the seas for the second time. It’s also easy to make out that Edward will be a bigger killing machine than any of the previous assassins. He can carry upto four firearms, two swords in each hand and the famous hidden blade makes a return.

In Black Flag, the focus will be on a refined naval battle and exploration system. Fighting other ships was arguably the best part of Assassin’s Creed III, and Ubisoft Montreal plans to take it to the next level. In addition to three major cities, players will be able to explore the Caribbean in an openworld environment.

Ubisoft promises there won’t be any loading times. Boarding, sailing, exploring and conquering will be seamlessly integrated and the game’s structure promises to have a better flow to it. They aren’t getting rid of the present day storyline but Desmond’s story has officially come to an end.

You’ll also be playing as a hire of Abstergo Entertainment who is tasked with finding more about Desmond’s ancestors.

Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag is releasing on October 29 PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, WiiU and PC and will also be released on next generation consoles as per their respective launch windows.
