Sanjay Joshi may join Rajnath team
Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi‘s bête noire Sanjay Joshi might find a place in BJP chief Rajnath Singh’s new team. Speculation is rife that Mr Joshi, an RSS man and the BJP’s former general secretary (organisation), will be inducted into Mr Rajnath Singh’s team to coordinate with other RSS pracharaks like him in the saffron party.
Sources disclosed that the issue has been discussed with the Gujarat CM, who was told that Mr Joshi’s organisational skills will help the saffron party in the coming crucial polls, including the general elections. Mr Modi himself is considered as the frontrunner for the post of BJP’s prime ministerial candidate for the 2014 Lok Sabha polls.
The RSS top brass and Mr Singh, it was learnt, have discussed the issue with Mr Modi and tried to convince him that Mr Joshi’s organisational skills will be used for the benefit of the party, especially when crucial

polls are lined up ahead. Mr Joshi is considered by many as an expert strategist and has major influence on the Sangh cadres, who play an important role during polls.
Mr Joshi had to quit the BJP national executive last year after pressure from Mr Modi on party leadership. The Gujarat CM was miffed after former BJP chief Nitin Gadkari gave an important role to Mr Joshi during the last UP Assembly polls. Earlier, Mr Joshi had to quit his party post in 2005 due a controversial CD, for which many blame Mr Modi. He is also considered close to former Gujarat CM Keshubhai Patel, a known Modi critic.
