CM VOWS MORE FUNDS FOR MLA CONSTITUENCIES
Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy in an attempt to woo the Congress MLAs, announced that he would sanction more funds for their constituencies, and at the same time asked them to strengthen the party to face a series of elections, beginning with the Gram Panchayat elections in May.
Addressing the Congress Legislature Party meeting on the Assembly premises on Wednesday evening, the CM announced that district-wise party MLA meetings will be held from Thursday, to take stock of the situation in the districts. PCC president Botsa Satyanarayana, the concerned district minister and in-charge minister will also take part.
Referring to the criticisms by both the TRS and the YSR Congress on the government’s functioning and schemes, the CM deplored the attitude of party leaders for their failure to launch a counter attack against both the parties. “You should have criticised that the TRS and YSRC supporting each other on the No-Confidence Motion was most opportunistic and unholy,” he told the legislators.
The meeting also passed a resolution to take disciplinary action against those nine Congress legislators, who have defied the whip and supported the No-Confidence Motion.
Mr Satyanarayana told the legislators that even the Congress high command was in favour of taking action against them.
