Chess tournament to commence on May 9
The Sri Prakash All-India Fide Rating (Below 2000) chess tournament will be held at the Sri Prakash Vidya Niketan, Visakhapatnam, from May 9 to 13.
There is no age limit for participation and is open to everyone below the ELO rating of 2000. A total prize money of `5,55,500 is at stake with the winner set to pocket `1 lakh. The first runner-up and the second runner-up will get `70,000 and `50,000 respectively.
The tournament will be held in Swiss League format with 9 rounds, each of 4-hour duration.
Interested players can register their names at the Sri Prakash Vidya Niketan, NH-5 Road, Payakaraopeta, Visakhapatnam before May 8.
