IT IS A DREAM COME TRUE, SAYS SINDHU

Sindhu expressed her gratitude to national coach Pullela Gopichand and the Badminton Associatio­n of India for her maiden Grand Prix gold title.

Sindhu said the support and contributi­on of her coach and the associatio­n enabled her to clinch her first Grand Prix Gold title.

“This is a dream come true for me. I would like to thank the BAI president Dr Akhilesh Das Gupta and chief coach Pullela Gopichand for motivating me and pushing me to excel,” Sindhu said after she won the final of the women’s singles event.

Akhilesh Das Gupta hailed the teen shuttler for bringing laurels to the country.

Meanwhile, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy on Saturday congratula­ted shuttler P.V. Sindhu on winning the Grand Prix Gold title in the Malaysian Open badminton final in Kuala Lumpur.

The Chief Minister wished her many more successes in the future. Telugu Desam president N. Chandrabab­u Naidu also congratula­ted Sindhu on her achievemen­t.

P. Gopichand, chief national coach, T.G. Venkatesh, president of Andhra Pradesh Badminton Associatio­n, K. Ch. Punnaiah Choudary, secretary, V. Chamundesw­aranath, Hyderabad District Badminton Associatio­n president, K. Pani Rao, secretary of Hyderabad District Badminton Associatio­n congratula­ted Sindhu’s achievemen­t.
