NRI enters airport with fake ticket

- DC CORRESPONDENT HYDERABAD, JULY 3

A NRI tricked security personals at RGI airport in Shamshabad, providing forged travel ticket and reached till the boarding counters, on Wednesday.

The man G. Madav Dev, 40, a native of Yenugonda, Mahbubnagar, made the fake ticket to accompany his Indonesian wife and her family till the check-in area because they did not know any Indian language. He was caught by the air- port officials, when he was trying to get out of the check in area after seeing off his four-member family. Shamshabad police arrested him for cases of cheating and forgery.

Madav Dev, who has been working in an Indian spiritual centre in Indonesia for the last 10 years, made a forged copy of original ticket he booked for his wife and her family members, and got through the first security check in the airport. “He booked an original ticket for his family. He made a separate copy of it and edited in his name in it to enter into to the airport,” RGI Airport police SI B. Kotaiah said. While his family had the original tickets, he carried a forged one, and accompanied them.

Madav Dev told police that his intension was not to board the flight, but to accompany his family till boarding area. “His wife and family are Indonesian natives and didn’t know English. He thought he will accompany them to make their boarding process easier,” the SI said.
