Fee fixation body submits report
Hyderabad: The contentious engineering fee fixation issue
has been resolved. The Admissions and Fee Regulatory Committee on Wednesday submitted its report to the state government giving its recommendations on fee fixation in different slabs for different colleges. Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy will take a final call on these recommendations in a couple of days based on which a college-wise fee list will be released by the department of higher education. This will enable officials to commence the first phase of Eamcet engineering counselling in a week. Eamcet results were announced on June 5 and students have been desperately waiting for the
counselling to begin. Interestingly, the AFRC has rec
ommended “adhoc fees” in about 214 colleges which did not submit financial details to
AFRC on their income and expenditure. However, it has recommended reduction of fees to 30,000 in these col
` leges. Last year, the prescribed fee was 35,000 with the con
` dition that these colleges must submit all the financial details
within three months. The fees in the remaining colleges has been fixed ranging
from 35,000 to 1.20 lakh
` ` based on their financial statements.
