After Rahul jibe, BJP says will expose Nehru family secrets

-

New Delhi, April 11: The BJP on Friday warned the Congress against raking up issues relating to the personal life of Narendra Modi and said it also knows many “secrets” of the Nehru-Gandhi family which they do not want to disclose.

After Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi raked up the issue of Modi’s marriage to attack BJP, the Opposition said raising such issues will “cost the Congress heavily and boom-erang”.

“Why are they going into personal things? People want an answer to the country’s problems. He (Rahul) can talk about it later and hold a panchayat.

“It will cost the Congress heavily. Don’t get into these things, it will boomerang,” BJP leader M. Venkaiah Naidu said. Condemning the “interference” in Modi’s life, another BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad said in Varanasi that it was a serious issue and it applied to Mr Rahul too though he didn’t prefer interfering in anyone’s personal life. “I know many secrets of the Gandhi family too from Nehru, Indira Gandhi and Rajiv, but don’t want to disclose them,” he said.

New Delhi, April 11: Senior BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad on Friday said in Varanasi, “Mr Modi was married at a young age and soon after his marriage he joined RSS and became pracharak ... on this issue, his brother has written a letter clarifying the matter... Mr Modi had never said that he was single. If Rahul has said anything on this issue, then I condemn it. A person should not interfere in anyone’s personal life”. BJP leader Prakash Javadekar said, “If personal attacks begin, then Congress has many skeletons in its cupboard and if we open it, they will have nowhere to hide. We don’t want to stoop to a low level”. BJP’s PM candidate Narendra Modi has said he is ready to face any probe by any government agency into Congress allegations that a whopping `10,000 crore was being spent on poll publicity. Mr Modi offered to write to the ElC himself in this regard.

“The government has still 30-40 days left. They should use all their force and order a probe by any agency. They should check whose money is this,” Mr Modi said.
