Enthusiastic readers suggest capital name

-

DC readers have shown great enthusiasm in suggesting the name for the new capital of the residuary state of Andhra Pradesh. While one reader has suggested Thelanguru, another used the letters in Seemandhra to form Sreemahanad. Other readers have said that YSR Congress president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy displayed great maturity during his conversation with this newspaper. During his candid conversation, Jagan had said: “The capital may not be in any of the existing cities, but is likely to be a new city whose name will be carved out of the letters in ‘Seema’ and ‘Andhra’.” FOLLOWING ARE THE LETTERS SENT IN BY SOME OF THE DC READERS: The

name of the new capital could be Maa Andhra. It means “Our Andhra”. The word ‘Maa’ comes from Seema. I think this is the best name for the new

capital. The

new name for a capital can be carved out from the letters of Seemandhra : Sreemahanad. If we keep this name, all the alphabets in Seemandhra are used.

Soumika Yerra Ipropose

the following names for the capital, irrespective of its location. The existing state is called Andhra Pradesh. The people of the region

D.S. Sastry are called Andhras. The Andhrulu were very well known during Dwapara yugam, as their forces participated in the Mahabharata yuddham on behalf of the Kouravulu. Now that the state is going to be separated, I propose some alternative names for the capital: a) Theluguru (like Bengaluru, Mysuru, Nelluru, Velluru); b) Thelugupuram (like Anantapuram, Venkatapuram, Markapuram); c) Thelugupatnam (like Chennapatnam, Visakha- patnam, Machilipatnam) Koka Mangapathi Rao

Vizag to be named as the new capital of Seemandhra.

Stylox Praneeth Guntur

would have been an ideal capital as it is well-connected by road and rail. Moreover, it is fast developing and has good water facilities. The new capital could come up between Guntur and Vijayawada. The airport at Vijayawada could serve the purpose for the time being. P. Anil Kumar

Congress president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy seems very confident. We have to appreciate his optimistic nature. Also, he has given clear indications on his plans for a new capital. One important issue raised by him is that he is still very young when compared to TD chief Chandrababu Naidu. That is why he wants people to give a chance to young people like him. I think he has matured a lot in politics. Buggana Madhu Sudhan Reddy
