No LS candidate talks of AOC road
Despite the closure of the AOC roads in the Secunderabad Cantonment area being an issue that affects almost 13 lakh residents, none of the candidates for the Malkajgiri Lok Sabha constituency, from any political party, has drafted an alternative plan nor has anyone included the issue in his/her manifesto.
“The High Court’s decision cannot be predicted. If the judgement favours the defence authorities, one of the busiest connecting routes in the twin cities will be paralysed. However, no candidate, including sitting MP Sarve Satyanarayana, has formulated any plan to tackle this issue. After the elections, the winning MP will be out of reach,” complained the residents.
The joint action committees, comprising welfare associations of Malkajgiri and Alwal, have written to Mr Satyanarayana requesting him to include the issue of the Army closing roads in his local manifesto.

jams on other roads. Even the alternative roads are narrow and cannot handle the additional traffic. Revoking of the orders will be of great help to the residents of Safilguda, Malkajgiri, Neredmet, ECIL, Moul-Ali, Alwal and other nearby places,” read the letter.
“Except N. Ramachandra Rao, BJP’s MLA aspirant, none of the other candidates have even spoken about the issue. The candidates have also not spoken about the long-pending drinking water issue and the poorly maintained major roads. The second phase of MMTS from Mouli Ali to Malkajgiri is pending for years now,” stated the JAC members.
