Boy hurt in minor explosion

- HYDERABAD, APRIL 13

A 7-year-old boy was injured in the eye after a detonator exploded in Video Colony in Miyapur on Saturday evening. The detonator, which had been dumped near a garbage bin, exploded after the garbage was set on fire. The police said workers had used detonators recently to clear blockages in sewer pipes. tim, Sadanandam Goud, 63, who was injured in his neck,

and his wife S. Padma, 52, were admitted to a private hospital. The police suspects a business rivalry may

have led to the attack. Medipally police Inspector Ravi Kiran Reddy said, “According to

the couple, they heard a knock on

the door in the morning, and when Ms Padma went to

open the door, a youngster sprayed pepper spray on her face. Hearing his wife scream, Mr Goud rushed to the

door when the attacker sprayed pepper spray on him before pulling out a knife. The assailant stabbed the victim on his neck repeatedly and fled before

the neighbours came,” he said. The

victim said could not think any of his enemies who would

attempt to murder him. The police said they have booked a murder case and are

investigat­ing.
