ment to give a chance to the HoDs to select Vijayawada or Guntur for relocation.

After discussions with the staff, the HoD will decide whether the office should be located at Vijayawada or Guntur.

The committee has opined that at least five to six HoDs can be located in the Nagarjuna University. Recently, the Nagarjuna University had constructed some new blocks in the complex. During their recent tour, the committee members convinced university officials to give accommodation to some HoDs. All education related HoDs, revenue, welfare and others will be housed at the university complex. The HoDs of agriculture, animal husbandry and others will be located in Market Yards.

The committee feels that the Pollution Control Board should be located at Vizag as more industries were located in that area.

The tribal welfare department will also be shifted to Vizag as the tribal development corporation was located there. The municipal administration department will be set up at the Vijayawada municipal corporation office.

The Committee has identified 17 HoDs which have direct interaction with the people. The committee has given priority to the shifting of HoDs of departments which have direct interaction with the people, departments dealing with welfare programmes, of revenue and resource mobilisation departments, development oriented work departments, departments involved in strategic sectors such as transport, communication, essential services maintenance etc.
