Check posts running in local dhabas, hotels
Even after six months, the check posts do not have proper rooms, essential computer system, weigh bridge among other necessities.
A key reason for black marketeers thriving in the state is lack of proper checks.
Nine interstate commercial tax check posts at Telangana state border, which have come up after bifurcation, are running at the mercy of local dhabas.
Even after six months, the check posts do not have proper rooms, essential computer system, weigh bridge among other necessities.
“Most of the check posts are operating from local hotels or dhabas,” said a source.
“It is essential to have well equipped CT check posts with back up data in order to check illegal activities besides a weigh bridge,” said a source in the Telangana State Commercial Tax Department.
One of the key reasons for the interstate black market thriving in the state is due to lack of proper checks and enforcement. Well equipped check posts, manned by staff would help government increase the tax revenue, say experts.
Currently, the borders are operating from Kodada (Krishna-TS border), Khammam, Nalgonda and six other places.
