BAR COUNCIL PLEADS FOR HC’S DIVISION

The Bar Council of AP on Saturday resolved to meet the Union law minister and the Union minister for home to submit a representa­tion requesting them to take immediate steps to establish a separate High Court for Andhra Pradesh. Council chairman A. Narasimha Reddy said the executive committee which met here unanimousl­y resolved to request the Bar Council of India to take immediate steps for the formation of the Bar Council of Telangana. He said the council had passed a resolution on June 7, 2014 requesting the Union of India and the Supreme Court to establish a separate High Court for AP and a Bar Council for Telangana. Pursuant to the resolution on Saturday the committee has resolved to meet the ministers personally and urge them to take immediate steps. The committee has elected K.V.N. Thammanna Setty as the vice chairman of the Bar Council of AP.
