- DC CORRESPONDENT

A 20-day-old baby with swine flu from Suryapet mandal was admitted to Gandhi hospital on Saturday evening even as 12 more cases were tested positive taking the number of patients to 311 in the state. The infant had tested positive on January 21 and was being treated at a private hospital.

But with her condition not improving, she was rushed to Gandhi Hospital.

Dr K. Narsimulu, nodal officer at Gandhi Hospital, said, “We suspect that the mother too has flu. She has severe cough and cold. Her blood sample was sent for testing.”

Meanwhile one kit used for testing swine flu samples failed at the Institute of Preventive Medicine. Tests were being done with other kit, which has resulted in a pile up of samples.
