Bizmen eye AP markets

- DC CORRESPONDENT

The merchants of traditional wholesale markets in the Old City are looking to start similar markets in Andhra Pradesh.

These merchants, who used to supply commodities to Seemandhra from Hyderabad, are opening up outlets locally.

“Over 20 to 30 per cent of our market is based in Vishakapatnam, Kakinada, and other areas in Seemandhra, which we used to supply from Hyderabad. However, due to taxation on sugar, food grains and pulses, our market has been hit badly. Now, we are looking to open up similar depots in the areas where markets exist,” said Ram Dev, owner of Mohan Lal and Chunnilal Company at Osmangunj.
