Overspeeding tanker kills youth

Hyderabad: A rashly driven oil tanker rammed into a car killing a youth on spot at B.N. Reddy Nagar in Vanasthalipuram in the early hours of Saturday. As the road was under repair on one side, traffic from both sides was allowed to pass through a single road. The tanker hit the car coming from the opposite direction. The victim, identified as T. Sridhar Reddy, 21, is a student and a resident of Nadergul in Saroornagar. Police said the incident occurred on Saturday at around 5 am when Sridhar was driving from B.N. Reddy Nagar towards Turkayamjal. When Sridhar’s car approached the reservoir in B.N. Reddy Nagar, the oil tanker rammed into it. “He was injured seriously. Locals rushed to his rescue but he had died by then. A case of negligence was booked,” police said.
