AVANI’S ‘SHE: BEING LIGHT’

The sculpture is an artistic vision of a woman by ar t i s t - c uratorgallerist Avani Rao. “While the metal is a symbol of strength, I also used cotton to show a contrast in a woman’s life. The whole idea is to portray the contrast and conflicts of her life where she has to manage the expectations and desires. The steel wire gives it a form, is soft and takes on any shape, just like the multiple roles that women play in their lives,” explains Avani.
