They have everything!
The Reddys’ villa reflects their life in the US and the one they are building together in India
E. Surender Reddy and his wife Neeraja have brought together their memories from their time spent in the US and are building new ones in a 4,300-sft area. While Surender is a senior executive in an MNC, Neeraja has founded her own company, N Lite solutions. They live in this villa with their daughters Niharika and Nainika. One enters to a foyer, which has a tranquilly feel with Buddha artefacts that the couple collected from their trip to Indonesia. On the left is the formal living room with a neo classical theme.
Right in the middle of their home is a rock garden which every room looks out to. “We incorporated the garden in a way that every room has windows that look out to it. The idea was to have an “inside outside” theme,” says Neeraja.
Walk a few steps into their home and there is a multipurpose space, which is their living room as well as the home theatre. “When we shifted from the US five years ago, this was a popular concept there to have a multipurpose room,” says Surender.
While building their home, the couple wanted to have a few memories from their previous home in US too. Thus, the guest bedroom still has their old bed.
A floor above is the bedrooms of all the family members, a loft area and a playroom for their daughters. While the rooms sport furniture and artefacts from their China trip, also hung on the walls are paintings made by Niharika. And what make all their rooms stand out are the high 16-foot high ceilings. Another interesting feature of the home is the use of chandeliers. Be it the dining hall or the foyer, which has nine small chandeliers, it was Surender’s love for chandeliers that brought the concept to their home.
