Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s call to have more children recently have enthused many political leaders at the local level. According to the Local Bodies Act, if anyone has more then two children they are not eligible to contest in local body elections. Due to this many local leaders lost the opportunity to contest in polls. In his last tenure, Naidu had said that people should not to have more than one or two children. But recently he changed his views and said that the more children, the better. Following this, political leaders are thinking that good days are ahead for them as the Chief Minister might amend the Act and they will get an opportunity to contest in the local body elections.
