Rishil, Sunskrithi are tennis champions

Rishil Gupta and Sunskrithi Damera won the boys and girls under-14 singles titles respectively at the all-India ranking tennis tournament, played at the Krishna Swamy Advanced Tennis Academy at Bowenpally in Secunderabad.

Rishil rallied past Rahul Chandna 2-6, 6-0, 6-4 in the boys singles title round.

In the girls singles summit clash, Sunskrithi got the better of Srujana Rayarala in straight sets 6-4, 7-5 to emerge the winner.

In the under-14 boys doubles final, Kota Shashidhar teamed up with Illuri Hari Vamshi to outplay Akhil Kumar Reddy and V. Preetam 6-3, 3-6, 10-5 in a thriller. Shashidhar and Hari won the first set 6-3, but Akhil and Preetam hit back in the second set 6-3. In the super tiebreaker, Shashidhar and Hari prevailed 10-5 to win the title.

Boys doubles final: Kota Shashidhar & Illuri Hari Vamshi bt Akhil Kumar Reddy & V. Preetam 6-3, 3-6, 10-5.

Girls singles final: Sunskrithi Damera bt Srujana Rayarala 6-4, 7-5.

Girls singles semifinals: Srujana Rayarala bt Vidisha Reddy 4-6, 6-4, 61; Sunskrithi Damera bt Sajana Rayarala 6-2, 6-2.
