The central zone DCP’s team and the crime team of the Chikadpally police have nabbed two notorious burglars. Ten cases were solved and gold ornaments and electronic goods worth around `7 lakh were recovered. The arrested men and their associates used to burgle locked houses and shops and hide the booty in a rented house on the outskirts, police said.

The arrested men are Bhagwale Raj Kumar, 24, a tea vendor and a resident of Uppuguda and Taqi Ali alias Chotu, 24, a mechanic and a resident of Alijha Kotla, Mirchowk.

DCP V.B. Kamalsan Reddy said gang leader Raj Kumar was a notorious criminal involved in 30 chain snatching cases and 33 burglaries in Hyderabad and Cyberabad.

Raj Kumar was released from jail in February. After that he committed around 10 burglaries. Recently Raj Kumar attacked crime constable Ramlal of Moghulpura with a dagger while he tried to catch him. He attempted to kill the constable and fled. An attempt to murder case was booked against him at the Moghulpura police station.

“The duo along with their absconding associates Hyder Ali and Riyazuddin used to commit burglaries. They took a room on rent in Katedan to avoid the police,” the DCP said. NBWs are pending against Raj Kumar and his gang, cops said.

About 250 grams of gold ornaments, two laptops and bikes worth `7 lakh were recovered from them.
