Childless couple commits suicide

A depressed couple committed suicide in their house at Vikarabad mandal in Ranga Reddy district on Saturday night. The victims who were married for about six years had no kids. They hanged themselves from the ceiling of their house. The incident came to light on Sunday.

The deceased were identified as P. Chandrashe­kar, 28, a labourer and his wife P. Chandana, 24.

Police said the couple had been staying with Chandrashe­kar’s mother after marriage. The couple was disappoint­ed as they had no children.

“They bolted the main door from inside and hanged themselves with a sari from the same hook in the ceiling. The incident came to light on Sunday morning. Chandrashe­kar’s mother grew suspicious when the couple didn’t wake up. When there was no response from inside the door was broken open and their bodies were found,” said Vikarabad SI E. Shekar.

Based on a complaint a case was booked under section 174 of CrPC. The bodies were shifted to hospital for postmortem.
