Meru cab fails to pick up on time

Need a system in place to check the problem

-

Ibooked a Meru Genie cab at about 9 am on March 16, 2015, for a pick-up and drop to the Secunderabad Railway Station from my house near JNTU. The reporting time given for the vehicle was 4.30 pm.

The booking reference No. is 36816592.

An SMS sent to my phone said the details of the cab and driver would be sent 20 minutes before pick-up time.

At 4.17 pm I got an SMS from the Meru Cabs call centre giving details of the car number and mobile phone number of the driver. At 4.25 pm, a driver from Meru Cabs called and said that he was at Kondapur and asked directions to come to my location.

On being asked what cab he was driving in, he said it was a sedan and would take at least 20-25 minutes to reach me. I asked the driver not to come as it was too late.

With no time in hand I was left with no option but to make other arrangements. I had to face a lot of agony and inconvenience and almost missed my train due to this lapse on the part of Meru Cabs. I fail to understand why a sedan was allotted when I specifically asked for a small car and was confirmed of its availability by the call centre at the time of booking.

If the vehicle could not be arranged, I could have been informed well in time. This exposes the careless attitude of the call centre.

Cab services should provide the service promised in time and must not take customers for granted. The agony a person undergoes is known only to him. We need a system in place to check this problem.

If the vehicle could not be arranged, I could have been informed in advance so that I can make other arrangements. This exposes the carelessness of the call centre.
