CITY CELEBRATES BIRTH ANNIVERSARY OF HAZRAT ALI
The birth anniversary celebrations of Hazrat Ali, the son-in-law of Prophet Muhammad, are being held across the city. A delegation of 40 dignitaries of shrines from Iraq has come to Hyderabad for the celebrations.
This is the third annual cultural festival of Imam Ali (a.s.), which, the delegates said, gave an opportunity to other religions to understand Islam. “We came to tell our Indian brothers — Hindu, Sikhs, Buddhists, Christians and other Indian religions — that the leader of believers taught us to respect you and enrich our brotherhood. As the Prophet said, humans belong to one of the two categories: either a brother in religion or a brother in mankind,” said Al-Asadi Imam-e-Jamat, Karbala shrine.
Socio-cultural programmes are being organised in the city as part of the celebrations. Seerat-e-Zehra committee will be organising Jashan and Sehra procession on the occasion of the birth anniversary.
