Hyderabad: Two illegal manufacturing units at Pashamaylaram, in Medak district, were raided by the state drug control officers on Thursday. The drug inspectors found Fluconazole being prepared in both the units without proper licence. The chemical tests carried out on a few batches confirmed that the medicine was Fluconazole, stated drug inspectors. Fluconazole is an anti-fungal medication which is used to treat fungal infections of vagina, mouth, throat and also the blood stream. Dr Akun Sabharwal, the director of Drugs Control Administration in Telangana, said, “We have seized `24 lakh worth medicine. The drug inspectors have got a few samples and they will be tested in the laboratory in Hyderabad. Once these tests are confirmed, then further action will be initiated.”
