AP withdraws land for courts near CM office

-

Due to security reasons, the AP state government has decided to withdraw the orders regarding allotment of a piece of land to court buildings at Vijayawada, which is adjacent to AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu’s camp office.

The state government is converting the irrigation department’s guest house into the CM camp office. Between this guest house and the court buildings, there is a small piece of land. On the request of court officials this land was earlier allotted to them.

However, now, after the bifurcation, the officials have decided to convert the irrigation department’s guest house into the CM’s camp office. The state government has sanctioned `15 crore for this.

Security officers have informed the government that it has to acquire some land from court buildings due to security reasons. As a result, the government has decided to cancel the earlier orders sanctioning the piece of land between the guest house and court buildings.

To discuss this matter with Chief Justice of AP High Court Kalyan Jyoti Sengupta, AP chief secretary I.Y.R. Krishna Rao met him on Wednesday.

Sources said that as a precaution, the Andhra Pradesh government has decided to inform the Chief Justice of this issue before giving orders withdrawing the earlier order.

Mr Krishna Rao said that the Chief Justice of AP High Court has reacted favourably in this issue.
