SOCIAL MEDIA BLUES

-

RECENT ANALYSES SAY THAT SOCIAL MEDIA IS A FACTOR IN AN INCREASING

NUMBER OF DIVORCES. Some have said that they looked at their spouse’s social media with the specific intention of detecting evidence

of adultery.

■ Almost one in seven married couples consider divorce because

they are not comfortable with

their spouse’s postings on FB or other online

sites.

■ Several have also said that they search online to find evidence of their partner’s infidelity. Nearly one in five said that they have daily rows because of the way their husband or wife uses social media.

■ The most common reasons for checking their spouse’s social media accounts is to discover who they were talking to, who they were meeting and where they were going.

■ Social media is the new marriage minefield. Specifically pictures and posts on Facebook, are now being routinely raised in divorces.
