MALALA YOUSAFZAI, IN 2009, BEGAN WRITING ON WOMEN’S EDUCATION

■ The Taliban had taken control of the area and banned TV, music and

shopping for women. They also limited formal education for women.

■ Malala also received death threats from the terror outfit for her progressive views in favour

of women.

■ On 9 October, 2012, a masked gunman got on her school bus and shot her a single bullet. It went through her head, neck and shoulder.

She was moved to Birmingham in the UK at a specialist hospital for treating military injuries.
