Mr X bombed because of my content: Bhatt

- DC CORRESPONDENT

While everyone’s happy to bask in the glory of a film’s success, taking a bullet when the film backfires isn’t always as smooth. When Vishesh films’ Mr X, produced by Fox Star Studios proved to be a dud at the box office, Mahesh Bhatt was quoted in a newspaper saying, “I am the leader so I will not blame anyone for my mistake. But yes, there are voices in my office, which said that Mr X was not marketed well. But as good partners, Fox and Vishesh Films have sorted out all differences and are gungho about Hamari Adhuri Kahani.”

The director-turned-producer of Vishesh, however, had a different stance on Thursday morning when he took to Twitter to clear the air. “I will not pass the buck of the failure of Mr X to the Fox marketing team. We at Vishesh must take things in our stride and move on! BLAME ME. It is content and content alone which is responsible for a film’s failure. Mr X bombed at the box office because of my content!! (sic),” he Tweeted.

undo the damage of his past statements or salvage Emraan’s dipping hold over the box office, we’re not sure. After all, Emraan’s previous films such as Ungli, Ghanchakkar, Raja Natarwarlal, Ek Thi Daayan didn’t rise to the occasion despite aggressive marketing. Anyway, the buck seems to have stopped here.
