EX-CRICKETER MURTUZA BAIG PASSES AWAY

Former Hyderabad batsman Murtuza Ali Baig passed away at his Banjara Hills residence in the City on Friday after a brief illness. He was 73 and is survived by wife and two sons. His funeral was held the same day. The younger brother of former Test cricketer Abbas Ali Baig, Murtuza played 48 first class matches for Hyderabad during 1958-71 and was a member of the State Bank of India team in the local league. He also played for the Oxford University in England.
