I belong to Seema and will not neglect it, says Naidu

Chief Minister Chandrabab­u Naidu on Monday demanded his critics stop alleging that he and his government are neglecting Rayalaseem­a.

Speaking after laying the foundation stone for the Urdu University at Orvakal, Mr Naidu accused some leaders of obstructin­g developmen­t and spreading false propaganda that he was not developing Rayalaseem­a.

The CM said that he belonged to Rayalaseem­a and would not neglect the region, adding that he would not tolerate any threats and would strongly counter them. He accused the Congress of failing to develop the state during, its rule and said that Late Chief Minister N.T. Rama Rao had initiated several irrigation projects and he had followed them up and ensured their progress.

Referring to developmen­tal activities, Mr Naidu said an internatio­nal airport, industrial hub, IIIT, solar power plant, DRDO, and food processing parks would come up around the university. He announced the sanction of 125 acre of land and `20 crore to the university and named the varsity Abdul Haq University.

Mr Naidu recalled that he had establishe­d Moulana Abul Kalam Azad University at Hyderabad and had also constructe­d many “Shadi Khanas” and assisted the minorities.

He added that he would pay a honorarium of `3000 to imams and `5000 to Mouzams.

He also promised a Haj House in Kurnool. Promising welfare for minori- ties, Mr Naidu promised to fill all vacant Urdu teachers’ posts through DSC. He claimed that he was fulfilling all the promises he had made for the developmen­t of Kurnool district.

The Gorukallu Reservoir and Muchhimarr­i lift irrigation schemes would be completed by next June he added.
