Now, Sharon on wage gap issue

-

After Patricia Arquette and Jennifer Lawrence spoke out against the pay disparity between women and men in Hollywood, Sharon Stone is opening up about the issue now.

“After Basic Instinct, no one wanted to pay me,” Sharon told People. “I remember sitting in my kitchen with my manager and just crying and saying I’m not going to work until I get paid.” Sharon says she was still paid much less than male actors even after landing her breakthrough role.

While working as a waitress, she “waited tables and scrubbed floors and everything else on the way up, and you must make the same, and it’s not cool that you don’t”. She pointed out how the change “has to start with regular pay, not just for movie stars, but regular pay for the regular woman in the regular

job”. The ferociously protective Chris Martin spoke candidly about his split from Gwyneth Paltrow.

Admitting that he had adopted a new outlook on life since separating from the actress, he told 2DayFM’s Rove and Sam, “I went through some big changes... everyone knows about them.” The Coldplay frontman continued saying that the split allowed him to “figure out where I’ve gone wrong in my way of looking at the world”.

“A few years ago, I was in a low place in my life and was feeling kind of down and con- fused,” he admitted.

“Some friends gave me a book and a poem and those two things started me off on this whole journey where I just feel so happy to be alive. That may sound a little simple but I suddenly feel very grateful to be alive and if it’s coming across then that’s great to hear.”

Chris, 38, and Gwyneth, 43, were married for 12 years before announcing their split in a blog post on her website Goop in 2014. The pair remain friends and are often seen enjoying meals with their two children, Apple and Moses.
