Mithun asks defected MLAs to contest again
YSR Congress MP P. Mithun Reddy on Wednesday demanded that the party MLAs who recently defected to the TD should resign and prove their public support.
“Those MLAs who shifted their loyalties from the YSRC to the TD are claiming that they joined the TD for the sake of development. But, during the past two years, what did Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu do for the state? If YSRC retains all those seats, from where you contested on our ticket, will you close down TD,” he challenged the CM.
YSRC MLA A. Ramakrishna Reddy said the government has handed over 1,500 acres of land to foreign companies for development of the new capital city, but so far nothing was done for the farmers who gave away their land. “The CM should reveal whether commercial and residential plots would be given to farmers or not. He had promised commercial and residential plots for farmers who surrendered their land for Amaravati. Now, what is Naidu doing? The TD government should give farmers their due share at any cost,” he demanded.
He further elaborated on public-private partnership (PPP) offers made by the Capital Region Development Authority. “Generally, property owners will get more stakes. But, here, CRDA has only 42 per cent stakes while the rest 58 per cent was given to foreign companies. Ironically, there’s also a clause facilitating foreign companies to offload their stake at any price and anytime. This clause is very strange and there is no such clause anywhere in the country,” the MLA said.
