BAND IT LIKE BECKHAM!
Xiaomi has launched the second edition of its fitness tracker. In a market where FitBit and Goqii bands have found massive fan following, the Mi Band 2, in more ways than one, keeps it simple. Having used the device for around two weeks, we can vouch for the fact that it is extremely light, almost non-existent in your wrist thanks to its comfortable strap and snug, non-irritable strap. As against the first generation of the Mi Band, the Mi Band 2 features a display and a handy control button that you can click to display the number of steps, corresponding number of kilometres walked, your heart rate, and oh, the time as well. The Mi Fit app which the band syncs with, is simple to set up — just enter your age, vital numbers and goals. All of this takes less than five minutes before you are ready to go. The app also gives you an encouraging buzz every day when you reach your step goal. The other times it buzzes you is when you get a call or a message. We found an interesting use here — you can save the battery of your smart phone by disabling the ringer/vibrator function and let the band do it for you!

life of around 20 days. Charging is a breeze with the mini USB charging pod that comes with it. Xiaomi claims that the device is IP67 splash resistant which essentially means light rain shouldn’t wet the device enough to cause any malfunction. The Mi Band 2 is priced at `1,999 and is available from this week at Mi.com.
