Prabhudeva who makes his acting comeback with

Tutak Tutak Tutiya talks about his latest flick, working with Sonu Sood, the movie clashing with Mirzya, and why he speaks so little off camera.

How did you come up with the title of the film?

I asked the same thing to Sonu Sood. He convinced me that it will work. I think it has worked so far, as the trailer got a million hits in a few days on the internet. We all wanted a unique title. It is a fun and family entertainer, like a celebration. There is a little bit of horror too in the film.

How did the casting happen?

We wanted to make the film in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi. I feel that we all are popular in these industries.

What were you doing during your acting sabbatical?

Everyone knows that I was directing films. Acting just didn’t happen all this while. I believe it is all about timing. One doesn’t decide anything, but time does.

What do you think about the film’s release clashing with that of Mirzya?

Every week, two or three films release together. It is like giving an exam and passing with flying colours. I feel October 7 is a very good date for our film since its Dussehra. Moreover, it is the producer and distributor’s call primarily.

How was it working with Tamannaah Bhatia and Sonu?

Surprisingly, I haven’t worked with Tamannaah before despite being in the same industry. I have worked with Sonu and we are very comfortable with each other.

Why is Prabhudheva so media shy?

I have to talk to promote my films, but apart from that, I generally don’t know what to say to people.

You also have a soft corner for action and dance genres when it comes to filmmaking…

I love these genres. I think they both are fun to work on. The film looks larger than life, like Sholay. I also believe that the audience gets entertained.

Do you feel that it is a deliberate effort to remake South films in Bollywood?

I feel it is all about the exposure. Social mediums are so big these days that people come to know. Films are being shuffled between multiple industries. People say that I changed Salman Khan’s career graph (after directing Wanted) but I didn’t do that, honestly. Who I am to change Salman’s image?

Any other projects in the pipeline?

I am starting my next directorial venture around December or January 2017. I will announce it soon.
