FAKE BABA, 13 OTHERS ARRESTED

A fake baba who targeted the families of Gulf migrants and threatened them with possession by evil spirits and sexually assaulted women and kids was nabbed by the police on Tuesday. South zone police nabbed 13 other sorcerers too who cheated people by claiming to have magical powers

South zone DCP V. Satyanarayana said that Mohammed Khadeer, a resident of Kanchanbagh, was working in the Gulf. While he was away from home, one tantrik named Fayaz Ansari convinced Khadeer’s wife that her 12-year-old son was possessed by evil spirits and he had powers to heal him. Believing him his wife took the boy to him.

Ansari injured the child, stabbed him with a sharp blade on his back, stomach, fingers. He used to pour hot water on the boy's legs and made him kneel naked for long hours.

“He even poured hot candle wax on his private parts. He trapped Khadeer’s wife and developed a physical relationship with her. He assaulted the child sexually by tying his hands and legs to a chair in front of his mother. All these acts were recorded on his tab,” the DCP said.

He added that there could be many other victims. “His main target was the families of Gulf migrants. He used to convince women that their children are possessed by evil spirits and on the pretext of healing them entered into relationships with the women and tortured the kids,” the DCP said.

Police conducted a search in south zone and nabbed 13 other sorcerers on Tuesday.
