Big encroachers such as Lanco Hills, Satvika Hotel on Patel Cherruvu, politicians’ houses at Bum Rukn-ud-dowla Lake, a house belonging to the owner of a famous jewellery chain on Kamuni Cherruvu, Shamshabad, and others have not been included in GHMC’s demolition list.

The Ranga Reddy joint collector has constructed a multi-storied structure, Rajapushpa, in Medak district on Ganganirani Wadaka. HMDA, meanwhile, says there are no nalas in this area. But a recent survey had identified 12,500 encroachments in the catchment area of Osmansagar and Himayatsagar.

Mr Thakur Rajkumar Singh of SOUL said, “NConvention on Thummidikunta Lake, government and private encroachments on Durgam Cherruvu, a badminton court and temple on Kapra Lake, STP and buildings on Mir Alam Tank, the Hyderabad Golf Association on Shah Hatem Talab, the jeweller’s house on Kamuni Cheruvu, a stone wall built by Lanco and Ramky estates on Yellamma Cheruvu have not yet been mentioned.

“Residential and commercial buildings of big violators are not being touched. The AP Tourism department had alienated 3 acre of land for private constructions and projects for tourism, but there is no action on government authorities.”

No demolition was carried out on Friday due to the Bathukamma holiday. The drive will, however, continue on Saturday, according to officials.

Meanwhile the GHMC has called for tenders to lay 150 BT roads worth `30 crore in the Twin Cities. The works will begin in two week.

While potholes are being filled everyday, over 3,049 are still to be touched in the city. The corporation has sought three more days to repair all the potholes.
