- DC CORRESPONDENT HYDERABAD, NOV.12

Telangana State Public Service Commission chairman Ghanta Chakrapani on Saturday stated that no instructions were given to candidates regarding wearing the mangalsutra or burqa when they were taking the ongoing Group-2 examinations.

He said that commission did not give strict instructions as was done for candidates writing national

Public Service Commission chairman G. Chakrapani said women were not told to remove their mangalsutras or burqas

exams like Neet and the UPSC tests.

Mr Chakrapani said, “we instructed women candidates not to come wearing expensive jewellery.” He said that in all competitive exams women were told not to wear ear rings in wake incidents of malpractice using bluetooth technology.

Any stray incidents that might have occurred at any centre could be brought to the notice of officials at the centre or the nodal officers or even the TSPSC to resolve the issue, he said.

The exam of this magnitude, which witnessed eight lakh registrations, went off smoothly barring a few incidents, he said.

He was highly critical of an Opposition party for trying to defame the commission without getting facts right. The commission can initiate legal action against those indulging in mudslinging against the constitutional body, he said.

He asked the family members of candidates not to create ruckus at the exam centres, but try to resolve the issue peacefully so that other candidates are not put to inconvenience.

Papers-3 and 4 of Group-2 exam will be held across the state on Sunday
