RACKET IN FAKE AADHAAR
The Telecom Enforcement and Resource Monitoring wing of the Department of Telecommunications has detected a fake Aadhaar card racket for booking mobile connections.
The TERM cell identified cheating by seven people during audit and this led to penalisation of service provider BSNL. BSNL filed a complaint with Saifabad police seeking action against the accused.
Police registered a case of cheating and forgery against the seven persons who are allegedly involved in the fraud.
BSNL employee B. Syama filed a complaint alleging that the accused provided a forged Aadhaar card as proof for booking mobile connections. The accused were identified as R. Bhokraj Monika, K. Shiva Kumar, Md Sultan Altamash, Md Abdul Mujeeb, Mohammed Javee, J. Nagabhushanam and Bareena.
The Unique Identification Authority of India also confirmed that the Aadhaar cards produced by them was forged. The case is being investigated by SI S. Ravi Kumar of Saifabad police station.
