RACKET IN FAKE AADHAAR

The Telecom Enforcemen­t and Resource Monitoring wing of the Department of Telecommun­ications has detected a fake Aadhaar card racket for booking mobile connection­s.

The TERM cell identified cheating by seven people during audit and this led to penalisati­on of service provider BSNL. BSNL filed a complaint with Saifabad police seeking action against the accused.

Police registered a case of cheating and forgery against the seven persons who are allegedly involved in the fraud.

BSNL employee B. Syama filed a complaint alleging that the accused provided a forged Aadhaar card as proof for booking mobile connection­s. The accused were identified as R. Bhokraj Monika, K. Shiva Kumar, Md Sultan Altamash, Md Abdul Mujeeb, Mohammed Javee, J. Nagabhusha­nam and Bareena.

The Unique Identifica­tion Authority of India also confirmed that the Aadhaar cards produced by them was forged. The case is being investigat­ed by SI S. Ravi Kumar of Saifabad police station.
