Bid by Left ultras to regroup in TS, AP

- DC CORRESPONDENT HYDERABAD, DEC. 4

Hyderabad Range DIG Akun Sabarwal said that extreme Left splinter groups are trying to reorganise themselves in AP and Telangana, and are engaging in over ground activities.

Addressing the press on Sunday, the DIG said that the CPI(ML) Janashakti Party, under the leadership of revolutionary singer Vimalakka, Kurra Rajender and Kurra Devender, is engaged in subversive activities, and that they had planned to form three armed dalams to move into the forests of Telangana and AP.

“The activities of CPI(ML) Janashakti have been detected in Nalgonda, Khammam, Nizamabad, Kamareddy and Ranga Reddy districts of Telangana and in Kurnool,” Akun Sabharwal said.

“The CPI(ML) Janashakti has formed many front organisations like the Telangana United Front. They are engaging in illegal acts like extorting money from businesses and are creating fear in society. Another organisation named Arunodaya Samskruthika Samakhya is also used for subversive activities,” the DIG said.

The DIG said their over ground illegal acts are aimed at supporting future anti-state activities. Mr Sabharwal said the police has already registered cases against CPI(ML) activists and that investigations were progressing.

“There are cases against them in Kurnool and Nalgonda. The leaders were booked in separate cases in different districts. The probe is going on,” he said.
