State orders more hearses

Hyderabad: The waiting time for relatives who seek to move the bodies of loved ones home, stands at 11 hours at Gandhi hospital and over seven at the Osmania General hospital. The state has now decided to add 30 more hearses, to help overcome the problem. There have been frequent breakdowns too with six vehicles undergoing repairs. The working hearses don’t go beyond 60 kilometres from the city, a hospital official said. The vehicles that were brought in on November 18 are new and have been able to serve a large number of people. Impressed, the administration has decided to get more of them.
