GHMC ENGINEER IN ACB NET

GHMC assistant engineer, Banjara Hills, B. Ashok Kumar was caught red-handed by ACB officials while accepting a bribe of `15,000. The officer was accepting a bribe from one K. Shiva Kumar, a civil contractor, for processing the file pertaining to getting permission to cut the road to lay the sewerage line.

The bribe amount was recovered from the table drawer of the engineer in his office. He was arrested and produced before the ACB court, Hyderabad.

Earlier this year in March, the ACB officials raided the residence of GHMC deputy executive engineer Peer Singh based on complaints and found that he owned assets worth `5 crore in Hyderabad and Nizamabad. The ACB has said GHMC is the third most corrupt body in the state.
