I-T notices to car showrooms

Hyderabad: While the automobile sector is badly hit with demonetisation and has removed temporary employees to overcome the currency crisis, the Central Board of Direct Taxes said it was business as usual at a few showrooms. The income-tax department has issued notice seeking explanation on the deposit of large number of old `500 and `1,000 currency denominations from November 8 to November 15. IT suspects that the automobile showrooms indulged in the sales fraud.
