DOC SELLS GANJA CHOCOLATES

A doctor was arrested for selling chocolates mixed with ganja on Saturday. Rachakonda SOT police said Mohammed Sujath Ali Khan sold the ganjalaced chocolates through his Instagram account and delivered orders through courier across India and received payments online.

Khan, 35, a resident of Bahadurpur­a, is an alumni of Deccan Medical College in Hyderabad and had worked as a research coordinato­r in the neurology department at the Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences.

Police said he was not happy with his salary and started practice as a health consultant to gyms where he used to advise patrons on protein intake. He had knowledge of ganja and its effects and came up with the idea of mixing it with chocolates.

Mohammed Sujath Ali Khan, who was arrested on Saturday for selling ganja-laced chocolates over Instagram had 1,800 followers, He had never met any of his more than 3,000 customers across India and he communicat­ed with them only through messages and mails, police said.

His menu of ganja chocolates ranged from ‘X’, priced `500 apiece, to 6X costing `1,800, depending on its potency.

Police said most of Khan’s clients were pub goers, especially women. When police raided his house at Bahadurpur­a on Sunday, they found a parcel ready to be couriered to an address in Vellore, Tamil Nadu.
