BIKER RAMMED BY ‘DRUNK’ DRIVER, SLIPS INTO COMA

An alleged drunk ran his car onto a motorcycli­st on the ORR service road at IDA Bolaram on Thursday night. Bike rider S. Parameswar, a courier delivery man, is in coma at a hospital.

Police said the four occupants of the car fled the scene. Police who seized the car (AP28 DG 6108) found half-a-bottle of whiskey in it.

The car owner was identified as Shiva Kumar of Serilingam­pally and police suspects the occupants were his children or relatives.

A 25-year-old biker was injured seriously when a car driven by an alleged drunk driver hit his bike at IDA Bollaram on Thursday night.

The incident happened when S. Parameswar was going home. Around four passengers in the car, suspected to be drunk, fled from the spot. Police seized the car and recovered a half filled whiskey bottle.

S. Parameswar, hailing from Pudur village in Medchal mandal, was working as a delivery boy for a courier service.

On Friday he was returning home on his bike. While passing through the ORR service road near IDA Bolarum, a car, coming at a very high speed. hit his bike.

Eyewitness­es said Parameswar was thrown off the bike. He was rushed to a hospital and is in coma. His condition is critical. The passengers in the car fled from the spot leaving the car behind.

Police identified the car owner as Shiva Kumar from Serilingam­pally and suspects that the passengers were his children or relatives.

“We suspect the passengers were drunk as a half-filled whiskey bottle was found in the vehicle. We can establish who is the driver only after they are caught,” police officials said.
