A speeding car driven by an MPTC member hit a motorist and sped away with his body for around 200 meters in Medak district on Monday. The driver fled leaving behind the vehicle. Earlier, similar incidents were reported from Mahbubnagar district.

Siddi Ramulu, 44, a resident of Fateh Nagar, runs a laundry shop in Medak town. In the morning, he was going towards Chegunta from Medak on his bike. When he reached Rajpalli village, a speeding car driven by Kistapur MPTC member Mallesh Goud hit Ramulu’s bike. Ramulu fell down and came under the car’s left, front tyre.

Fearing an attack by locals, Mallesh sped away dragging the body along. Eyewitnesses said that Mallesh was speeding and to avoid hitting a bus, he had hit Ramulu's bike.

“After travelling for around 200 meters with the body in the front part of his car, Mallesh abandoned the car by the roadside and fled,” eyewitness said. Police registered a case.

“We are checking how the accident happened. A hunt is also on to trace the driver,” Medak inspector K. Bhaskar said.
